6:45- 7:10PM - Stump the Gurus
Join Gurus Andrew Balis, Michael Kammes and Michael Wohl as they will attempt to answer all of your questions and solve all of your problems concerning FCS and FCPX, Avid, Premiere Pro and anything else you can think of. If they can't solve your problem or answer your question, then you go home with a problem, but you still got out of the house, so that's not a bad thing.
7:15PM - 7:35PM - Audio in FCP X - Michael Wohl
Michael Wohl, irreverent and entertaining author of the new book: "Advanced Editing with Final Cut Pro X" will show off a variety of cool and useful audio sweetening techniques in Final Cut Pro X, from customizing EQ settings, to taking advantage of powerful Logic effects such as Space Designer, as well as how to isolate dialogue, sound effects, and music for optimal mixing and output. He will also be available to sign his new book at the break.
About Michael Wohl
Michael Wohl is a pioneer of desktop video, and a man of true vision. Indeed, if you want to know the true history of Final Cut Pro, ask Michael Wohl. Michael was one of the original designers of Final Cut Pro, when Macromedia started developing the application in 1995 (long before Apple purchased the program). Instrumental to the development and design of this awesome video editing application, Michael was involved in all aspects of its design until several years after Apple acquired the software, at which point he left to pursue his other passion as a film director. Michael knows Final Cut Pro like few others!

About Al Mooney
Al Mooney has extensive technical, sales and marketing experience in the media industry. As product manager for Adobe Premiere Pro software, Mooney is responsible for defining, delivering, and supporting the overall feature set and functionality. Earlier, Mooney was the UK senior business development manager for video and broadcast at Adobe, providing technical workflow consultation for top broadcast accounts in the U.K. In that role, he oversaw the redevelopment of Adobe’s video VAR channel, a network of expert resellers and service providers for the Media and Entertainment industry.
Mooney joined Adobe in 2009, after spending two years at Apple as the U.K. Pro Video business development manager. There he was responsible for the communication and go-to-market strategy of video solutions for the U.K. market, working with resellers and customers.

In the lobby will be many FCP, Avid and Premiere Gurus. This is your chance to ask questions. No questions? Then talk to each other. Also in the lobby will be Tery Williams and Christina Oliver from brand new lafcpug Platinum SponsorAJA. Also, brand new lafcpug sponsor, Hot Pixel Post will be there to answer all your post production questions. It will be a packed lobby. The break is a chance to hang out and meet and greet and get your problems solved and who knows, get a job. You never know who you are going to meet at lafcpug. Snacks and Beer and Wine will be on sale in the lobby. Proceeds go to the Gallery Theater.

About Michael Cioni
Over the past decade, Michael’s passion for file-based acquisition talent and toolsets has helped give new shape to the digitally changing motion picture industry. In 2003, he co-founded and built his first post house, PlasterCITY Digital Post, into one of Hollywood’s preeminent desktop-based post production facilities. Now CEO of Light Iron, Michael has served as a Digital Intermediate Supervisor on hundreds of feature and television projects and provided 2D and 3D data-centric post production technical and advisory support for major studios and independent films.
Michael believes strongly in empowering clients through education. He is a founding member and instructor at RED Digital Cinema's official training program, REDucation, has instructed HDExpo/Createasphere’s Panasonic P2 Workshop and Color Camp 101 as well as numerous events and online classes for content creators. Michael sits on the Board of Directors of both the Hollywood Post Alliance and Filmmakers Alliance and he served as an adjunct faculty member for USC's Annenberg School of Journalism.
Before moving to Hollywood, Michael worked in television with a PBS affiliate in Illinois. He became the youngest recipient of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences “Best Informational Program” when his syndicated program "alt.news 26:46" won a combined four Regional Emmys in 2001 and 2002. Michael is a graduate of Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications and Media Arts.
